In February 2022, multiple sclerosis became too much for me to maintain my elementary teaching position that I had given my entire heart and soul to. During that time in my life, I was scared, confused, worried, and a whole mix of every other emotion imaginable. I found out about the Multiple Sclerosis Achievement Center @ KUMed from my neurologist and in April 2022, I began attending weekly. The amount of support, love, empathy, vulnerabilty, joy, and growth I've experienced since are immeasurable. In fact, I joined the Board in 2023 and am promoting Race to NOWhere, our biggest fundraiser of the year happening on Saturday, February 24 at the Kirmayer Fitness Center on State Line Rd in KCK.
