My story with MS starts in 2015. I got diagnosed when I was 25 and in the middle of so many different things! But my mom was my rock and together we figured out how to make things work.

And then 2020 rolled around and my family lost my mom. Admittedly, I was a little dependent on her, but long story short, distress put me in a wheelchair pretty quickly. It was within a year that I had lost all of my ambulation in my legs and could no longer walk around safely.

I was lost and only barely medically supervised, but then I found Dr. Lynch and the MSAC and it sounds a little crazy, but I think my life was saved. I didn't know what to do, my family didn't know what to do, and all of a sudden, I found myself  surrounded by more support than I knew what to do with — I was making connections that would and have continued to change my life to this day. 

MSAC is run by the most fabulous staff you could ask for and is such a gentle place to be myself, make new friends that have become family. I've used this analogy in the past so pardon if you've heard it before, but MS and losing my mom, it felt like being thrown into a raging river with featureless sides. Every ounce of my strength and time was used to just keep my head above water as I gasped for air. But then the MSAC appeared. It was like a rock that I could cling to in the middle of the raging water. I could catch my breath, look around and start to feel safe for the first time in a long time. 

I feel safe, I feel secure and I am hopeful for the future, and I owe that all to the peace I found at the MSAC.
